Advantages And Disadvantages Of Reproductive Technology

A child is one of the most valuable and precious gift God can give us as parents. My husband and I are unable conceive children and we are contemplating on reproductive technology. Reproductive technology helps millions of couples with procreating their own children, on the other hand millions of children die from these procedures. I will briefly talk about the procedure that we might decide on and it advantages and disadvantages. I will also talk about the decision my husband and I made and why we made this decision. This is truly heart breaking for us and sometimes it feels as if we would do anything to have a child of our own. Internet Encyclopedia of Psychology, (2017) stated â€Å"many individuals regard the human embryo as a person with mo ral rights, and so they consider its destruction to be morally impermissible.† (para. 10). This has been a very sensitive subject for me, I myself have adopted three children and life has not been easy for us but with God and love anything can be accomplished. In my eyes these adopted children are my children now, I’ve had then for 13 years. I mentioned earlier that this was a sensitive subject for me, because as a teenager I had two abortions and one miscarriage and now God has blessed me with 3 three adopted children. I know my children are in heaven and that they have forgiven me and this gives me comfort. This class helped me realize that and has helped me release pain I still had for those losses and thanking God for his forgiveness and mercy. Reasons being that it is â€Å"relatively inexpensive, simple to accomplish and involves no pain for the woman.† (Rae, 2009. p. 158).
